The ninth annual Taste of Birmingham fundraiser benefiting the Birmingham Boys Choir is set for August and features several young men from Leeds and Moody who will be performing with the choir.

Gabe Lunsford, Rivers Sands, Eli Hollingsworth are residents of Leeds and Moody who are among other boys in the choir that will benefit from the event, which will be a competition of more than 25 local, award winning restaurants.

Participants in the fundraiser will compete for the Iron Skillet Award in a contest dubbed “What’s in a Name?”. The theme will be centered around how the restaurants got their name.

With the fundraiser the choir hopes to raise money to purchase music, choir robes, scholarships, music theory materials and teaching supplies, as well as offset concert expenses.

The choir hopes to continue education for boys with music theory, musical performance, technique and collaboration.
