Miss Leeds Area Braidyn Lazenby was named one of the top 12 finalists in the competition for Miss Alabama that began on June 5 and ended on Saturday night.
The title of Miss Alabama went to Tiara Pennington, who was Miss University of Alabama.
The competition took place at the Wright Center on the campus of Samford University where Lazenby was among 47 women to take part. She was named Miss Leeds Area in July of 2018.
“Being a Top 12 finalist at Miss Alabama is such an exhilarating feeling and a wonderful cap to the end of my title as Miss Leeds Area,” Lazenby said. “Performing on Saturday is great, but what many people do not see are the girls backstage that did not make the Top 12 helping steam dresses and cheer backstage. While I am humbled to have been recognized as a finalist, it is even more special to represent some of my best friends on the stage as well.”
