Leeds is getting ready to celebrate Christmas.
The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce has announced times and dates for the annual Christmas Parade and a new event, a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.
The parade will be on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. Professional floats are available for purchase through the Chamber office, if needed.
Christmas Parade 2018 application is available to download for the Leeds Annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce at www.LeedsAreaChamber.com. There is no charge to participate in the parade, but an application must be submitted to get in the parade line-up.
All new this year is the Leeds Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting. The city will light up a Christmas tree at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 on the corner next to Leeds Arts Council hosted by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Leeds.
Santa will be there, as well as entertainment and food trucks on the Parkway.
Santa will be there for “Selfies with Santa,” as well as Christmas entertainment to complete the festivities to kick off the holiday season.
Downtown shopping is available until 6 p.m. Food trucks will be available from 5-8 p.m.
The Christmas tree will be donated by LeHigh Cement Company.
