The Leeds Greenwave team suffered another loss this season in a game against the Holtville Bulldogs on Friday night with a final score of 35-7.

The game was a Class 4A Region 3 contest in which Leeds scored an opening drive touchdown three minutes into the game. Running back Jeremiah Hunter made the touchdown for Leeds.

Despite the strong opening, the game was tied after Bulldogs quarterback Drake Baker threw a pass that connected with wide receiver Noah Yarroch.

In the third quarter, Baker put the score at 21-7 after a goal line touchdown that Bulldogs running back Drew Pickett opened up with a lead block.

Holtville’s defense proved a challenge for Leeds when three fumbles recovered by the Bulldogs hurt the Greenwave effort. Holtville finished the game with 261 rushing yards on 35 carries, scoring four touchdowns.

The Greenwave plays its next game against Handley High School on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
