Leeds’ first First Thursdays Street Fest is on for tonight from 4-7 p.m. after having to cancel the first one in April due to rain.
The event is presented by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Leeds and Leeds Redevelopment Authority.
The event will feature street entertainers, food trucks, arts, crafts, vendors, car cruise ins, kids activities, shopping and more. A Porsche Night and Corvette Club Night with car cruise ins will also be part of the festivities.
The farmers market also returns at the First Thursdays event. It will include Kennedy Farms @Chelsea, Still Water Farms , Silly hill Farms, St Clair County Boys Ranch ( flowers), Witt Farms, Suzette Childs cakes, Moma Sue’s fried pies, Doron Soulis Hines cupcakes and Eastaboga honey.
The festival will be held on both sides of 9th Street adjoining Parkway Drive. Children’s activities will be on 9th Street from the Parkway toward LA Salon and Boutique. Street entertainers will perform from the gazebo.
There will be a full lineup for live music, including Charity Bowden from the Voice as well as Leeds native and country music artist Erica Ryleigh.
First Thursdays is slated for May 2 from 4-7 p.m. Other dates will be June 6 and Aug. 1.
