Leeds Arts Council to hold auditions for “Listen To That Cold Steel Ring”

In September, the City of Leeds will host a John Henry Festival as part of the Alabama Bicentennial celebration.

During the celebration, the Leeds Arts Council will present two performances of a play based on the folk tale of John Henry, “Listen To That Cold Steel Ring” written by Marie Cromer. The performance will be directed by Suellen Wilkins.

The Leeds Council will hold auditions on July 29 and 30 that calls for 15 African-Americans and 10 Caucasians of all ages.

The auditions will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Leeds Arts Center located at 8140 Parkway Drive.
