Leeds Alabama Power office to close along with 39 others this summer

An Alabama Power office in Leeds will be among others in the state to close its doors by the end of August.

Alabama Power will close 40 out of 86 offices throughout the state. Spokespeople from the company said that some offices will be closing to combine with other locations.

“Alabama Power continues to adapt to our customers’ changing preferences toward doing business electronically and through authorized payment locations by offering more convenient, self-service choices than ever before,” stated a press release from the company.
“To more effectively serve our customers’ evolving needs, we are better positioning our operations by combining selected business offices and Appliance Centers across our service territory.”

The company also cited a trend of more customers paying bills online and fewer coming to offices. Alternatively, customers can make payments at Walmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Fred’s and Piggly Wiggly.

The offices are expected to close by Aug. 30.
