The Greenwave football program of Leeds High School aims to benefit the team with a fundraiser in April.

A number of activities will be featured in the event, including a chili cook off for corporate and individual entries. The winner will receive a trophy and “bragging rights for a year.” Additionally there will be live music, games for families and food truck.

Those interested in signing up for the cook off are asked to fill out a form which can be seen on the Leeds Quarterback Club’s Facebook page. The fee for corporate entries is $250 and $100 for individual entries.

Admission is $5 per person but free for kids under seven.

The fundraiser will take place on April 13 at Rails and Ales located at 1210 6th Street in Leeds. The event begins at 11 a.m.

Writer’s note: Due to weather concerns, this event has been postponed to April 13. The date was originally March 9.
