Leeds fell to 1-5 after a 50-7 loss to Talladega High School Friday night on the road.

The Greenwave had four turnovers and didn’t get a first down until midway through the second quarter, according to Talladega Daily Home’s sports writer Shane Dunaway. See their story here.

Talladega scored 30 points in the first half and their defense held Leeds to 209 total yards of offense.

Leeds and Talladega are Class 4A, Region 4 rivals and Talladega’s head coach, Ted Darby, old the Daily Home they wanted a shutout.

But they didn’t get a shutout. With only 1:42 left in the game, Leeds’ backup quarterback Jarod Latta threw an 18-yard pass to Omar Conley for a touchdown to put the Greenwave on the board.

Leeds plays Holtville next week for Homecoming at Homer Smiles Stadium.
