Sponsored by Miss Leeds Area Outstanding Teen, Emma Terry, the Grand River Car Show to Drive Out ALS will take place at the Outlet Shops of Grand River this Saturday at 11 a.m.
ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a neurodegenerative condition that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing degeneration of muscles. This disease affected renowned physicist Stephen Hawking, who was paralyzed for much of his life.
There is a $10 entry fee for the car show on Saturday, which will also have a motorcycle division. The show will raise money for ALS research and will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Outlet Shops of Grand River is located at 6200 Grand River Parkway in Leeds.
