More parking space is being constructed in downtown Leeds to accommodate business growth in the area, the City of Leeds announced on its website.
Two parking lots are being constructed. One is located on the Parkway across from the Leeds Jane Culbreth Library and Regions Bank at the site of the Bargain Town USA that was burned. The second will be located at the corner of 7th and Railroad.
“These efforts are to solve problems with the lack of parking in our downtown area and meet the demands of a growing city,” the announcement said. “More and more companies are moving to Leeds and some of them are locating in our downtown area and they need adequate parking for their employees and customers.”
The city’s announcement stated that “a driver” for the construction of new spaces is the growth of jobs at TA Services, a security firm and the Three Earred Rabbit.
